Ypsilanti Heritage Festival

This is our most spacious set up every year. We have room to put up two tents: "big red," and "little red", and we have plenty of places for volunteers to sit and rest.

Our location overlooks the placidly flowing Huron River (pictured in the photo above) on which, on Saturday, the annual "Duck Float" takes place. Dozens of contestants put plastic ducks in the river near the Cross Street bridge overpass. The first duck to reach a net about 200 yards down stream wins the contest.

The Ypsilanti Heritage Festival probably has the most varied food offerings, and some of the most interesting exhibits of any of the festivals we attend. Be sure to stop by the internal combustion engine demonstrations, but don't sample the Hard Cider concoctions too heavily!
